Each month, we’ll be randomly choosing one bespoke client to celebrate, showcase, and uplift across our platforms — because when they grow, we grow too.
This scent was not rushed. It was crafted slowly, intentionally, and with deep devotion over months this past year. Inspired by their infamous FIKA Cardamom Buns — which sell out every single weekend at the vibrant Oranjezicht Market — this candle is a true labour of love.
Hand-poured in small batches in Cape Town, each candle is infused with natural essential oils and fine fragrance notes of:
Cardamom • Tonka Bean • Cinnamon Leaf • Cocoa • Vanilla • a hint of Maple sweetness
The result?
A scent that is cosy, buttery, softly spiced, and deliciously nostalgic — a true olfactory echo of The Local Baker’s iconic cardamom buns.
The story behind the scent is just as beautiful…
It was inspired by the love of the baker’s wife, Emma — who simply could not get enough of that intoxicating bakery aroma after each baking day of warm, spiced cardamom yumminess. Love, translated into scent.

Inspiration: Named after the ancient Greek word for "outdoors," from which the word "Forest" derives.
Scent Profile: Envision the opulence of nature with the freshness of a dewy forest morning. Hints of moss, herbaceous notes, juniper berry, frankincense, cypress, vetiver, fig, jasmine, petitgrain, black pepper, sage, and cedarwood create a woody, grounding, and calming experience.

Its uplifting blend of creamy Coconut, soothing Vanilla, and zesty Lime is balanced with the grounding notes of Sandalwood, Oud, and Patchouli. Hints of Neroli and Pink Peppercorn add a fresh, vibrant twist, while Rosemary evokes a sense of calm clarity. Perfect for creating a serene, summery escape, wherever you are.
